We are
Organic

We have always cultivated our vines in full respect of the environment and principles of sustainability, with minimal use of pesticides. In fact, we were among the first to use pheromones in our vineyards as a natural form of woodworm pest control.

In 2014, we took the decision to obtain organic certification. And it was in 2018 that our products could finally be officially labelled as organic and endorsed by the CCPAE (certification body of Catalonia).

Our agricultural, and specifically our vine-growing philosophy, is ecological and biodynamic: complete respect for the natural product without the use of fertilisers or pesticides. In short, without using synthetic chemical products.

Implementing this philosophy in practice has meant huge investment to proactively treat our more than 400 hectares of vineyards. The basic preventive treatments that are authorised are copper (to prevent downy mildew) and sulphur (to prevent powdery mildew).

These treatments must be applied just before the changing of the season and, even more importantly, simultaneously across the more than 100 plots that we manage. Achieving this requires significant investment in state-of-the-art machinery.

The setting in which our vineyards are located plays a vital role. That is why we respect and maintain the forests that surround our estates, as well as the two ravines that cross through our largest estate in Monistrol d’Anoia. Furthermore, the animals, and particularly the birds, play a key role in enriching the soil in which our vines grow.

And to close the biodynamic circle, we are introducing livestock into the ravines and forests located on our land.
